1995 Aria Pro II TA-70 "Titan Artist" MIK & HSC
Currently in Use
I spotted this on the internet and although I had to go on a bit of a trek to collect it, it was been well worth it. Originally Aria Pro II guitars were made at the Matsumoku factory in Japan, however by 1987, a lot of the production had shifted to Korea. This particular guitar was built at the highly rated "Samick" factory in Korea & from the serial number & style etc, I believe it was made in 1995 which would make it around 20 years old now. The guitar has been very well cared for and only had a couple of blemishes when it came in and some light scratching in the back. All this is shown in the photo gallery.
The "Titan Artist" range was first made at the Japanese Matsumoku factory around 1981. They are similar to the ES-335's but the body shape is slightly smaller and a slightly different shape. They still feature the same solid centre block. The guitar was constructed using mahogany for the back, sides and neck & Spruce was used for the arched top. All in all a very nice quality guitar. The translucent orange is a very unusual colour and this is the only example of it I could find.
The guitar plays really nicely with a straight slim neck and low action. The frets have very minimal wear (see photo) The pickups are Samick's own and sound good but this would be an area worth investing in
The guitar is currently a "keeper" for me although it will be selling at a later date. Please contact me if interest. The price tag wont be high (less than £400) & it includes a generic hard case.
