1994 Epiphone Les Paul Custom MIK & New Hard Case
This Epiphone Les Paul custom came in as a PX against another guitar. Initially I had thought "just another Epiphone Les Paul" & I was going to sell it on ebay but when I looked at all of the modifications that had been made to the guitar and I played it, I quickly changed my mind. This is a seriously good guitar !
This guitar has a slimmer neck than some Epiphones I have played. This suits my smaller hands & I find it very comfortable
This Epiphone was built at the Samick factory in Korea in 1994 so it's one of the earlier Korean models which are quite sought after these days. They were made better then and they play better (IMO) The main upgrade to this guitar is a pair of Dimarzio Zebra humbuckers with coil splitting. They sound fabulous. In the neck position is a Dimarzio PAF 57 Pro & at the bridge is a Super Distortion. Both pickups have been wired for coil splitting as well as in/out phase. This is done using the 4 push/push pots. The other great upgrades are the addition of a set of Grover "kidney" tuners as well as a bespoke bone nut and a retrofit Bigsby tremolo system. This has been added without any holes being drilled on the top of the guitar. A plate was hand made by a luthier which sits where the stop tail bar would normally be. The Bigsby works really well but it can fairly easily be removed also. The guitar is also supplied with a new shaped hard case

All work carried out to the guitar has been to a high standard. The frets have also been dressed & the control cavity fully shielded.
The guitar had a few small scratches & dents when it came in. These have almost all been removed now leaving a guitar that looks & plays really well. You can see that the guitar has been played over the years and there are some marks around the headstock but all in all I would say that it is in excellent used condition.
