2016 Fender Japan Exclusive Classic Stratocaster TX (Texas Specials)
Vintage White with new Hard Case
This guitar was made in 2016 and would appear have been unused. Occasionally the guitars I get from Japan are possibly demo models or maybe old stock. Once again it's a model that you can't get in the UK. I did find a limited run of Sunburst models (not now available) but this was the only white one I could find.
It's a great reissue. Apparently the large headstock Fenders came in in 1968. I always thought that it was later than that. Anyway this is a great reissue, the noticeable difference from the 70's reissue is that it has vintage style stamped saddles on the bridge. It's a fabulous guitar & ticks all the boxes for me for a Stratocaster :)
The overall condition of the guitar is almost perfect. Some light scratching on the pickguard is the only evidence of the guitar having been played . I took the neck and pickguard off to check out the pickups and body routing and I also found a current Fender Japan catalogue showing the spec.
Here's some blurb from Fender about this guitar and some specifications too
Fender Japan are always building interesting guitars from reissues to modern re-tellings of classic ideas. Now the Classic 68 is here showing us the transition period from the smaller headstock 60's models to the larger headstock and very different 70's style.
Japanese Build Quality
The almost un-thought about member of the Fender factories, Fender Japan release some amazing guitars that some even say are just as good as their American counterparts. Made in small numbers purely for sale in Japan these guitars are rarely seen outside of their home country
The larger headstock that we associate now with 70's strats actually started showing up in the late 60's. Not as common as their smaller headstock brothers these late 60's models were part of the CBS transition period that saw large changes to the Fender line.
There are some materials that just have to be used on guitars like this. That is why with this guitar you have an Alder body and a Maple neck which is how the Stratocaster was made back in the 1960's. Match that up with the Texas Special pickups and you have an unbeatable classic tone machine.

As stated many times, due to courier damage, all my guitars are shipped in hard cases (usually new) this one being a plain black one. I do have a tweed option and these are a little dearer (Extra £10). If you prefer that, please email me for details. If you are collecting, I'm happy to knock off the price of the case (About £30) & I may even have an old gig bag you can have to take it away in
