1997/8 Fender Japan Telecaster
TL62B-75TX 3TS & new hard case
Offers over £600
This 62 Custom Telecaster from Fender Japan with its double bound body is one of those guitars that you would describe as a "players guitar". Like a lot of guitars I import, it has factory fitted US Texas Special pickups & you can't easily get in the UK unless you import it
When the guitar came in, it was covered in bangs, chips & scratches. The worst of these has been removed but if you look at the gallery photographs you will note the last few photos show the condition when it arrived. Other parts replaced are the high"E" tuner, the 3 way switch which is now a USA Grigsby.
The guitar was also found to have had a replacement neck. The body has a serial number on the bridge which dates it to 1997-2000 but the neck has a serial number on the heel dating it to around 2004/5. I wasn't altogether happy with the condition of the frets & I have now had the guitar refretted plus I have upgraded the saddles to brass compensated ones and replaced the pots with CTS ones
The guitar now plays really well & the pickups sound amazing. At the moment this is my gigging guitar but I am always open to offers if you want to buy it. Having said this, those offers would need to be over the £600 mark to make it worthwhile selling. This truly is a "players guitar" but it may suit some people to be like that. If you prefer that, please email me for details. If you are collecting, I'm happy to knock off the price of the case (About £30) & I may even have an old gig bag you can have to take it away in
