Vintage Advance Series AV2HH Thinline Telecaster & new hard case

Vintage guitars are designed and built by Trevor Wilkinson & are well made, well thought out guitars. This thinline telecaster has an Alder body , Maple & Bubinga neck, twin humbuckers with a blend control to give you a full humbucker sound down to a single coil. A great, lower priced Telecaster

It's always nice to have a few lower priced guitars on the website so there are a few models that I look out for and will buy if I see them. This is the second Vintage Advance Telecaster I have bought. The first one was a great player & this one is probably better & has been little used. The are a couple of small chips on the back edge. I have filled, smoothed & polished these but due to the coloured lacquer that was originally used, you can still see them but as they are on the back edge, they are not noticeable. Please see the gallery pics

This guitar was made in China in 2005 and has been little used. The frets, trussrod & neck are all excellent.

Hard Case

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £30 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag

Vintage Advance Series AV2HH Review & specifications

The AV2 exhibits an impressive build quality with neat design references. It's semi-solid and more usually for this type of design the back is chambered from three-piece alder with maple-veneered maple top.

The more exotic figuring puts it into a posher 'boutique' category and again, finishing and binding is of a high standard.

The bolt-on maple neck with the easier-on-the eye Fender-inspired headstock and logos is again impressively shaped with a hint of a 'V' to the shoulders and a tidily fretted dark-brown rosewood board.

The fret slots, at the fingerboard edge, are colour-filled and the neck back is satin - only the head-face is glossed.

Where the neck joins the body there's a contrasting piece of bubinga visible at the neck heel that's actually an extension that passes under the neck pickup.

It allows firm fixing by the four screws, held in recessed washers not by a neck plate, and means that the last 22nd fret is easily accessible.
