Westone Rainbow II 1981 MIJ & original Hard Case

Matsumoku Built 1981 335 Style Guitar

Westone Guitars & Basses were built at the Matsumoku plant in Japan during the late 70's & early 80's. Matsumoku built guitars for many brands including Aria Pro II, Westbury, Washburn, Vantage, Epiphone & probably a few more.  Westone Rainbows were quite an upmarket guitar for the factory. The Rainbow I had chrome hardwear & the Rainbow II gold coloured hardwear along with an ebony fretboard, larger fretboard markers and 2 x PEQ tone controls. I'll try & explain what they did later on

Westone guitars & basses are always quite sought after, mainly because of the build quality and they are also quite appealing to collectors these days.

When this particular guitar came in, it had had its pickups & pots changed but this had been done well & thankfully the original pickups, pots & wiring had been retained & the pickups had full length leads which could be fairly easily reinstalled.
