1989-1990 Fender Japan CTL-50M Telecaster BSB
A solid Ash body on this almost 30 year old Butterscotch Blonde guitar from Fender Japan.
This "J" series Fender Telecaster is in really good condition bearing in mind its age. it would appear to have been little used. It was pretty grubby when it came in & the chrome was quite tarnished. After a good clean it has come up very nicely. The guitar plays really well with very little wear to the frets. I am assuming that CTL stands for contemporary telecaster as this is a copy of a USA 70's-80's Telecaster. Cosmetically it is very good. The only issues I can find are as follows.
A small ding on the inside of the lower horn. It's not very noticeable and is smooth to the touch.
The guitar has had stickers on the back which have been left there for some time. Upon removal, these have left marks. These are on the back and not that noticeable. In time these will fade. You can check both these in the gallery photos. I see a lot of guitars and in my opinion, this guitar is in really good condition for its age. It's a great looker & plays well too. One last interesting point is the small sticker on the back of the headstock with "50" on. That would have been the price when sold new in "000" of Yen. That's about £350

As stated many times, due to courier damage, all my guitars are shipped in hard cases (usually new) this one being a plain black one which is included in the price. I do have a tweed option and these are a little dearer. If you prefer that, please email me for details. If you are collecting, I'm happy to knock off the price of the case (About £30) & I may even have an old gig bag you can have to take it away in
So to sum up, a nicely aged guitar from Fender Japan. This model is very difficult to find here in the UK.
