2013 Fender Japan TL-52 Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde
with new Hard Case
Fender Telecasters are great. They have been making them forever and they are as popular now as they have always been. This particular model is a replica of a near 70 year old design but it still works really well & is the choice of musicians all over the world. As is well known, Jimmy Page used one to record the solo on "Stairway to Heaven" & Joe Walsh used one on his solo in "Hotel California" I'm a big fan as you've probably guessed. They are pretty much bomb proof & they are simple. They do exactly what it says on the tin!
This '52 Reissue from Fender Japan is 7 years old. It plays exceptionally well & the slim neck is one of the best in my collection at present. The frets have very little wear and the Butterscotch Blonde is a really popular finish.
What lets this guitar down slightly are a few careless knocks around the edge of the guitar. I have had to repair a few and they have improved. I also repaired one on the fretboard. You can still see the slightly darker mark near the B string near the first fret but it is smooth an polished now. There were also a couple on the lower edge that were worse & I was faced with trying to match up the colour. This can be near impossible on whites & light colours. With this particular guitar, the butterscotch I have is too dark & the vintage white is too light. Some of this is due to natural fading. I tried 3 times to get a colour match with mixes & the best I can do is not perfect, however, it is smooth and polished and the marks won't get any worse. This model of guitar usually sells for around £750 or £800 if it has USA pickups. The lower price reflects the damage
The guitar looks great & the build quality is as you would expect. What more can I say.

As stated many times, due to courier damage, all my guitars are shipped in hard cases (usually new) this one being a plain black one. I do have a tweed option and these are a little dearer (extra £12). If you prefer that, please email me for details. If you are collecting, I'm happy to knock off the price of the case (About £30) & I may even have an old gig bag you can have to take it away in
So to sum up, a superb Fender '52 from Fender Japan. This model is hard to find here in the UK.
