1986 Fender Japan TL52-70 SPL Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde & new Hard Case
The Fender TL50-72 SPL features in Fender Japan's 1986 catalogue. Built at Fujigen during what is believed by most to be their best era, this 1986 guitar is in really good condition for its age. Later Telecaster Specials have Ash bodies but to me the grain is wrong on this guitar and is more like Alder. It is also too heavy to be Ash IMO. It tips the scales at just over 5kg so not for the faint hearted!
It has a humbucker at the neck and a vintage style single coil pickup at the bridge plus a six point modern bridge but a 7.25" radius fretboard. The chrome has pitted in places and there are marks around the body together with fade marks on the back where I expect stickers have been applied. No it's not pristine but it has bags of character & has a desirable "E" series serial number from 1986 It also features the 50's Logo on the headstock. It has been used but the frets are still good with no indents & the guitar looks to be all original with no modifications. I'm not saying that it's rare but of all the hundreds (maybe thousands) of guitars I trawl through in Japan it's the first one of these I have seen from the 80s.

As stated many times, due to courier damage, all my guitars are shipped in hard cases (usually new) this one being a plain black one. I do have a tweed option and these are a little dearer (extra £12). If you prefer that, please email me for details. If you are collecting, I'm happy to knock off the price of the case (About £30) & I may even have an old gig bag you can have to take it away in
If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
(Please note: Hotmail email sometimes doesn't work when sending from a "gmail" or "googlemail" account. Therefore, if you get no email response, I'm not ignoring you, I just haven't received it. Please message Whitstable Guitars via Facebook or text 07849 585222 & I'll get back to you)
Or, you can buy easily and safely using the Paypal "buy now" button. Don't forget to select the right option using the drop down menu on price, i.e. Collection, UK shipping or EU shipping. If in doubt, please email me first as Highlands & Islands can sometimes be a little dearer for shipping
