This 1994-1995 Fender Japan ST-40 Standard Stratocaster is a model that was built for the domestic market. It's a standard Japanese Stratocaster. No frills & not a vintage reissue but still made at the famous Fujigen factory in the early 1990's. It looks to be original apart from the scratchplate, however, there were no additional holes underneath the scratchplate which is the usual clue. Although a standard model, these guitars were equipped with decent Japanese GOTOH tuners, the necks have a flatter 9.5" profile with modern trussrod adjustment at the headstock.
For a guitar that's nearly 30 years old, this guitar is in pretty good condition. As I said, it's almost completely original there are some small knocks and bumps and also some wear (probably from a wedding ring) up the side of the fretboard. The necks on the standards have a bare finish which is actually very nice to play. The saddles were quite badly rusted & I have now fitted some generic replacements. I've put them on but retained the originals. You can see the before/after photos in the gallery. I have also replaced the missing back plate and luckily found one where the holes were an exact match.
So, if you're after a Japanese Fender Stratocaster that won't break the bank this could well be perfect for you. At £540 including a £60 hard case, it's a pretty good deal :)

Hard Case
As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. Please contact me before purchasing if you would like this. Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that i won't ship a guitar in a gigbag.
