JAPAN IMPORT

What a beautiful guitar this is from Fujigen Japan. A twin humbucker Telecaster, this guitar has some great features including, Swamp Ash body with an Imbuia veneer cap and black binding, Maple neck & Granadillo fretboard.  A compound radius fretboard, CFS fretting, twin Seymour Duncan Jazz humbuckers, both with coil splitting, locking tuners. The list goes on and on!

n.b. Imbuia is a South American exotic hardwood also known as Brazilian Walnut. (I had to look that up!)

n.b. Granadillo is informally considered a type of rosewood. Sonically, it’s comparable to Indian rosewood, but it’s harder and denser, yielding an additional bell-like ring. (From Taylor guitars website)

Just a really versatile guitar that also looks pretty fantastic. It's been really well thought out by FGN and it plays and sounds so good!

It was a difficult decision to make to put this up for sale on the website as this has been my gigging guitar for the last 12 months & it's been brilliant. Unfortunately, I have torn tendons in my left shoulder and although this guitar is only 3.91 kg I need to play something lighter. I've moved to a Fender Hybrid Tele which is good but it doesn't quite have the sustain & bite that this guitar has as it isn't as resonant but it is over 600g lighter.

Condition is 9/10 It was pretty much mint before I started gigging it and now it's almost the same but there are a couple of tiny 1mm-2mm dents on the body and a tiny amount of wear to the frets although it's a long long way from needing any fret work. Unfortunately none of these marks can be picked up with a digital camera. It looks fab.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Circle Fretting System

All FGN guitars and basses come with a unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.). It was created by FGN based on an idea to offer better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. All frets are installed on fingerboard in slightly curved shape, so that every string crosses all the frets in 90 degrees, i.e. to offer a minimum contact of string on a fret, and it makes the scale length of every string even while it actually varies on conventional fretting. The C.F.S. is a solution of fretting on a traditional guitar and bass and it offers clearer articulation and tones which give dimension when you play a cord and also cut through the mix when you play single notes.

*The frets we use aren't special. You can ask your nearest repair shop to hit them from the edge of the fingerboard when refret.

Compound Radius

FGN employs a specific Compound Radius ratio on the fingerboard, representing advanced fingerboard technology. The neck radius gradually increases over the fingerboard's length, starting out rounded near the headstock and flattening out toward the neck joint. A diameter of 250mm was selected for the radius at the nut for optimal comfort and grip for chords. A 350mm radius at the heel has proven to be ideal in eliminating any unwanted buzz of string bending that may be caused by over-tightened fingerboard radius traditionally countered by high string action. The Compound Radius affords comfortable and easy bends even with string action below 1.9mm and ensures smooth fingering when playing solo passages high on the neck, while allowing for much easier chord playing at lower frets.

Pickups & Controls

Seymour Duncan JB & Jazz Humbucking pickups with 3-way switch and push-pull coil tap on tone pot.

Smooth Fret Edge

FGN craftmen are meticulous in ensuring J-Standard Smooth Fret Edges are rounded to perfection for a smooth feel on the neck, Position changes are seamless and the aesthetic is flawless.

Natural Satin Neck

Many people said the neck coated with gloss finish is very slippery and very difficult to hold it from sweating.

We finally developed FGN original natural satin finish and it can make you feel very smooth and comfortable like the illusion of touching the natural wood.

The original neck finish can improve your playability and the resonance from the neck to the body material.

All in all it's an excellent guitar from FGN that you probably won't find here in the UK

So to sum up, an excellent guitar from Fujigen Japan. This model is not so easy (or as cheap) to find here in the UK unless you import it. Why not play something that's just a little bit different?

If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours. Please also take a minute to look at my "returns policy" too.

Or, you can buy quickly and safely using the PayPal "buy now" button and I will ship to most UK addresses the next working day. Highlands and Islands can be slightly dearer but I'll keep the cost as low as I can.

I can accept credit card payments by phone and will also offer a small discount to purchasers using bank transfer payments.

Overseas customers are very welcome but please email me first for shipping quotes.

Hard Case Policy

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag.
