1985 Hohner "Wing" MIJ Guitar & Hard Case

(Newly refretted by Crockett Guitars)

Built at the Moridaira plant in Japan in 1985, you won't find many of these about. In fact, this is the only one I have ever seen. Obviously based on the Washburn "Wing" series (Which, in turn, was copied from the British Pack Leader guitars in the mid 1970's) this guitar wasn't built at the Matsumoku plant but instead at the Moridaira plant in Japan, also famous for the highly rated "Morris" guitars.

Moridaira (Morris Guitars)

Founded in 1967 by Toshio “Mori” Moridaira, the Moridaira factory produced high-quality guitars, including the infamous Morris badged guitar. Moridaira also produced badged guitars for Hohner including Coronado, Futurama, H.S. Anderson (Madcat), Lotus (some) and Sakai.

This guitar is all original other than the trussrod cover and two of the knobs (it had odd ones when it came in) and is mostly in good condition. The top, bridge, electrics, neck are all good. The guitar's frets weren't completely worn when it came in but were quite low & there was some choking between the 12th & 15th frets. I made the decision to have a full refret which was carried out by my luthier Andy Crockett. As ever, he has done a first class job & the guitar plays like a dream now.

The edges around the guitar have a few knocks and scrapes. I have photographed them as clearly as I can to show the guitar accurately. As a 32 year old guitar it is officially "vintage"

Hard Case

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a  hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £30 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag

Essentially, a good quality guitar from the golden years of Japan. The guitar has some wear but this is quite a rare model & you won't find very many around (if any!)
