1984-1986 Yamaha Japan LP-400 "Lord Player" Cherry Sunburst & new hard case.
The Yamaha "Lord Player" range were produced by Yamaha Japan for their domestic market from 1984-1986. Previous to that the range was called "Studio Lord" and some of those had bolt on necks. The general consensus of opinion online is that the Lord Players were better than the Studio Lords. I can't comment as I have only had a Lord Player to date. What I can confirm is that this is a beautifully made guitar from Yamaha Japan and it plays really well. For a 35+ year old guitar it is in great condition. Frets still have plenty of life and the neck is straight. The guitar also hase highly regarded Alnico V humbuckers fitted which do sound extremely good.
The guitar has an Agathis body with a Maple cap. A Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fretboard overall the guitar is in excellent condition. As stated, these guitars were for the Japanese market only and are only available as imports (like this one) In my experience, Yamaha Japan don't make a bad guitar & this is no exception. Great value and unusual. I did find one other example in the UK on a well known auction site. The guitar was heavily "reliced" and supplied without a case for the same price. This guitar will be supplied with a new fitted hard case.
