JAPAN IMPORT

Here's another excellent guitar from Edwards ESP. This is Edward's take on an SG Standard and with its USA Seymour Duncan humbuckers it's a lovely guitar. Edwards guitars are part of the Japanese ESP group & this one has the usual top quality build and specs from this guitar builder. Mahogany body, Mahogany neck & USA Seymour Duncan pickups.

Edwards guitars are made in Japan by ESP. You won't see very many in the UK & every one of those I have seen has been an import. As far as I am aware, Edwards guitars are generally close replicas of USA guitars & as such, they are just made for the Japanese domestic market. What I will say about them is that they are built to a really high standard & not only that, they use good woods (Ash/Alder/Mahogany etc) and are usually fitted with USA pickups & electrics (CTS pots & switches) and Japanese GOTOH hardwear. The Edwards range are always popular & they never hang around very long.

This particular guitar is an early Edwards as it has no serial number on the headstock. Edwards only started stamping serial numbers in 2005. Some people say the earlier models were better. I don’t know but this is an excellent guitar. The number “90” in the title E-SG-90LT2 relates to the cost new which would have been 90,000 Yen. This guitar is from the more desirable "Lacquer Taste" series where a thin coating of Nitrocellulose is sprayed over the guitar as a final finish giving an antique look rather than the usual high gloss. This guitar has been used but any marks are consistent with age. There are some tiny dents on the body & some buckle rash on the rear as shown on photos in the gallery. It also appears that the truss rod cover is a replacement. The frets have around 70% life left and the guitar plays really well.

Hard Case Policy

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag.

If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
