JAPAN IMPORT

The Aerodyne Stratocaster from Fender Japan is not often seen outside Japan. They are popular with the domestic market &  I haven't seen many others in the UK (apart from my imports) They are a lightweight Stratocaster (this one is just 3.41kg) with body binding & a colour matched headstock. They either have the traditional S/S/S pickup configuration or, like this one the more modern H/S/S. The other important feature with the Aerodyne is that they come in two scale lengths, the standard 25.5" or as a 24.75" M or "Gibson" scale length. This guitar has the 24.75" scale length. This Aerodyne was a top of the line model & as such has DiMarzio Heavy Drive DCS-2 pickups fitted:

The DiMarzio Heavy Drive DCS-2 (often stamped as "DMC") is a set of active-style single-coil pickups used in certain Japanese Fender Aerodyne models, typically in an SSH configuration. These pickups are designed to provide a higher-output, "heavy" tone compared to traditional single coils, often featuring a white cover.
Components: The pickup set usually consists of two single-coil "Heavy Drive" (DCS-2) pickups, frequently paired with a DiMarzio humbucker in the bridge position.

Sound: Designed to deliver a stronger output, these pickups fit players looking for a more powerful, modern sound than vintage-style single coils.

Appearance: They are generally identified by their white stamped plastic covers, frequently found on specific white or black Fender Aerodyne models.

This guitar is in very good used condition. Frets are good with no indents. There are a few small dents and scratches on the body of the guitar and a couple I chose to repair on the bottom edge near the strap button. The Olympic White has yellowed a bit in the last 20 years and the bridge saddles have tarnished. I also noticed that the tuner buttons have dulled. The scratchplate has some scratching but that really is about it. The pickups sound fabulous and the guitar plays very well

What appeals to me about the Aerodynes is the modern look with body binding and a colour matched headstock and the flatter more modern 9.84" fretboard radius which makes them easier & so nice to play. Real head turning guitars. This is a really good example in the most popular colour.

All in all it's an excellent guitar from Fender in Japan that you probably won't find here in the UK

Hard Case

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. This case is a nice new fitted one from Thomann in Germany.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that i won't ship a guitar in a gigbag

If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.

Or, you can buy quickly and safely using the PayPal "buy now" button and I will ship to most UK addresses the next working day. Highlands and Islands can be slightly dearer but I'll keep the cost as low as I can.

I can accept credit card payments by phone and will also offer a small discount to purchasers using bank transfer payments.

Overseas customers are very welcome but please email me first for shipping quotes.
