2008 Edwards ESP Japan E-PO-100D "Potbelly"  Black & used Gator hard case

£599.00  + shipping

JAPAN IMPORT

Here's another superb guitar from Edwards ESP. The Potbelly was originally made by ESP and was very "high end" at around 200,000 Yen (£1350.00) and this is a later model by Edwards who are a part of the ESP group. Usual top quality build and specs from this great guitar builder. Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck & USA Seymour Duncan pickups. With a 3 way switch & one volume & one tone control it's very straightforward but great fun to play.

Edwards guitars are made in Japan by ESP. You won't see very many in the UK & every one of those I have seen has been an import. As far as I am aware, Edwards guitars are generally close replicas of USA guitars & as such, they are just made for the Japanese domestic market. What I will say about them is that they are built to a really high standard & not only that, they use good woods (Ash/Alder/Mahogany etc) and are usually fitted with USA pickups & electrics (CTS pots & switches) and Japanese GOTOH hardwear. The Edwards Les Paul range are always popular & they never hang around very long.

This particular guitar has some wear around the body with a few scratches & chips but all of this is consistent with age. Also & most notably, the bridge pickup has been changed to a Seymour Duncan SH-4b. The guitar is around 15 years old but the frets are excellent as is the overall condition.   The guitar has been properly "played in" and it plays & sounds great. Lots of sustain & nice low action

After initially listing this guitar in the condition it came in, I have now decided to repair the scratches on the top of the guitar & also to purchase a chrome pickup cover from Seymour Duncan which has been placed over the existing "zebra" open pickup. As I have left the pickup tape on which goes around the side of the copper winding the fit isn't 100% accurate as the pictures show but to me it looks considerably better than it did. The cover can however be easily removed if not required by the next owner.

This guitar comes in a slightly used Gator case. It had a slight split on the leather cloth at one end. I have glued it back down and is now pretty much invisible.

So, to sum up. Another excellent guitar from Edwards ESP which is very difficult to find in the UK as they were never sold here.

Hard Case

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. This case is a nice new fitted one from Thomann in Germany.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £30 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that i won't ship a guitar in a gigbag

If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
