This 1968 reissue Stratocaster from Fender Japan is around 8 years old but in superb condition looking to have seen only very light use. This guitar boasts a solid Ash body and is factory fitted with excellent Fender USA Texas Special pickups.

The 1968 reissue (ST-68) Stratocaster can look, at first glance, the same as the ST-71 & ST-72 reissues but there are a few subtle differences. Although it has a large headstock, the ST-68 does not have the "bullet" trussrod, it also has Fender stamped saddles whereas the later ST-71 & ST-72 had plain chrome "block" style saddles. The ST-68 has "F" stamped tuners rather than the GOTOH tuners on the later models. Lastly the ST-68 has a 4 bolt neck plate rather than the 3 bolt "shield" style on the later ones. Purists think this is a better, more stable system. Otherwise, they are pretty much the same but from what I have seen, the 1968 reissues are much less common & tend to attract a higher price.

This guitar is in excellent condition despite being 8 years old. When it came in there were a couple of very minor dents on the back which have been repaired & are pretty much invisible. There are photos in the gallery. All in all, it looks great & the Fender USA Texas Special pickups sound awesome

To sum up, it's an excellent guitar from Fender in Japan that you probably won't find here in the UK

Hard Case Policy

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. This case is a nice new fitted one from Thomann in Germany.  Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag
