This SST-30S Domestic market only Squier Stratocaster was made in 1986 just after the JV Squiers finished production. The guitar has a desirable "E" series serial number & a pencil neck date of 29/05/86. The SST-30  Squiers were entry level guitars with Basswood bodies and cheaper ceramic pickups but they also have great necks which definitely feel more like a JV to me. The logo transfer is also the same. Apparently the SST-30 came in around 1983 for the domestic market. As you can see this is an SST-30S I think the "S" was a slight upgrade and had Sunburst finishes and slightly better tuners. The pickups were SQ-3 but they aren't the greatest. This one has a Seymour Duncan SSL-1 replacement at the bridge and although well balanced to the others, it definitely sounds better.

Condition: This guitar is covered in scrapes and dents but these are in keeping with its age & I haven't repaired any of them as I think they add character. The frets are in pretty good shape without indents and the Rosewood fretboard is good too. The trussrod operates correctly and the neck is nice and straight.  The tuners, bridge and nut are all good. The electrics all work as they should and the pots are in good shape too. Here are some specifications:

Hard Case

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that i won't ship a guitar in a gigbag.

If you are further interested in this guitar, you can either email me with any queries & I'll do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
