1984 JV Squier SST-30 Stratocaster Black & New Hard Case

JAPAN IMPORT
This SST-30 domestic market only Squier Stratocaster was made at the Fujigen factory and has a JV serial number "JV12871" dating it to January 1984. It's a JV Squier that has a 5 way pickup selector (some have 3 way). These changed to 5 way in mid 1983. There's a pencil date of 14/01/1984 on the heel of the neck. Although the SST-30 was the lower level model of Squier and as such, had lower grade tuners & pickups the important neck is the same as other JV's including export models. The electrics look to be untouched and the pickups on these were SQ-3 with ceramic pickups.
The good thing about this guitar is that it is pretty much all original as far as I can tell. It has a missing back plate.
Regarding value, the cheapest JV I can find advertised in the UK is £849 for another domestic market so, with a new hard case thrown in, this is an excellent deal.

Condition: This guitar is covered in scrapes and dents but these are in keeping with its age & I haven't repaired any of them as I think they add character. The frets are in good shape without indents and the Rosewood fretboard is good too. The trussrod operates correctly and the neck is nice and straight. The tuners, bridge and nut are all good. The electrics all work as they should and the original pots and 5 way switch are in good shape too. Here are some specifications:

As said many times, all my guitars come shipped in a new black hard case which is included in the price. I find this is the safest way to avoid damage in transit. Alternatively, if you are collecting the guitar and, like some buyers have cases coming out of their ears, that's no problem, I'll adjust the price (usually around a £50 discount) and I can usually find you an old gigbag to take the guitar away in. The only hard and fast rule I have is that I won't ship a guitar in a gigbag
